Editor's Notes:

Here are some initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, based on the reliable data reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza:

By August 23, 2025, the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip is 75,290.

This includes the accounted for deaths (62,622) and those who are still missing under the rubble (an estimate of at least 13,027+).

By August 23, 2025, the documented injuries exceeded 157,673.

By August 23, 2025, according to news report, 1,020 Palestinians who were killed, 7,000 who were injured, and 18,670, who were abducted by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, since October 7, 2023.

Note 1: 61 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment on the Gaza Strip. By adding this number to the yesterday's death toll (62,263), then the death toll becomes 62,324, not 62,622 as reported today! Thus, there was an increase of 298 deaths, which were added without explanation, which may refer to victims of starvation and malnutrition.

Note 2: About the number of Palestinians, who were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces in the Wet Bank

Palestinian Prisoners’ institutions reported that 662 Palestinians, including 39 children and 12 women, were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, including Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), during July 2025.

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), and Al Dhameer Association for Human Rights stated in a report issued Sunday that the total number of kidnappings of Palestinians in the West Bank, since the start of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, has risen to more than 18,500, including over 570 women and about 1,500 children.

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

WHO: 15,600 Gazans, including 3,800 kids, need urgent medical evacuation

Saturday 23-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) has called for an urgent scale-up of medical evacuations from the Gaza Strip, affirming that more than 15,600 patients remain in need of specialized care, including 3,800 children.

In social media remarks on Saturday, WHO director-general Tedros Ghebreyesus appreciated the latest evacuation of critically injured and sick patients from Gaza, but he stressed the need for more action in this regard.

Ghebreyesus reiterated his call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and for unhindered entry of humanitarian aid to save lives and provide life-saving medical support.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s brutal genocidal war on Gaza has claimed the lives of 62,622 martyrs and wounded 157,673 people to date, most of them women and children.

Many victims also remain missing under the rubble, with emergency and civil defense crews unable to reach them due to ongoing bombardments and lack of equipment.

UNRWA: Gaza famine can be stopped by allowing immediate entry of aid

Saturday 23-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) affirmed on Saturday that the famine in Gaza City can be halted if large-scale humanitarian aid is allowed to enter immediately.

In a brief statement on its official page on X, the agency said, “Ending the ongoing catastrophe requires the entry of massive amounts of aid into Gaza through the United Nations, including UNRWA.”

It noted that its warehouses in Jordan and Egypt are fully stocked with enough food, medicine, and hygiene supplies to fill 6,000 trucks.

The agency stressed that Israel must allow these supplies to enter the Gaza Strip without further delay.

On Friday, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini described the famine in northern Gaza as “a deliberate, man-made famine orchestrated by Israel.”

In a statement issued in response to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification’s (IPC) declaration of famine in Gaza Governorate starting mid-August, Lazzarini said, “Months of warnings have gone unheeded. Famine is now confirmed in Gaza City, and this is a famine deliberately engineered by the Israeli government.”

He emphasized that this is “a direct result of Israel’s ban on the entry of food and other essential supplies for months, including aid from UNRWA.”

Lazzarini added that it is still possible to prevent famine from spreading across Gaza by enforcing a ceasefire and allowing humanitarian organizations to operate freely and deliver aid to starving civilians.

“It is time for political will,” he concluded.

Lazzarini urges Israel to stop denying famine it created in Gaza

Saturday 23-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), said the Israeli government must stop denying the famine it has caused in the Gaza Strip.

In a post on X on Saturday, Lazzarini urged global leaders and power holders “to use their influence with determination and a sense of moral duty” to press Israel to halt the deepening of famine in the besieged enclave.

“It is time for the Government of Israel to stop denying the famine it created in Gaza,” he wrote, stressing the need for urgent action. “Every hour matters,” he added.

Earlier on Saturday, UNRWA reiterated that the famine in Gaza City can still be halted if massive humanitarian aid is allowed in immediately. The agency said in a statement on Facebook that its warehouses in Jordan and Egypt are full, containing enough food, medicine, and hygiene supplies to load 6,000 trucks. “Israel must allow us to deliver aid into Gaza,” the agency insisted.

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) confirmed famine in Gaza Governorate and warned it is likely to spread to Dair El-Bala'h and Khan Younus in central and southern Gaza by the end of September.

Israeli occupation authorities quickly attacked the report despite its reliance on verified data, with the Israeli occupation forces claiming on Friday that it was based on “false testimonies.”

Gaza health official: Child malnutrition clinic overwhelmed as famine reaches critical stage

Saturday 23-August-2025

KHAN YUNIS, (PIC)

A senior health official in the Gaza Strip warned on Saturday that the children’s malnutrition clinic at Nasser Medical Complex is dangerously overcrowded, as the famine in Gaza enters a decisive stage under Israel’s tightened blockade on aid and medical supplies since March, 2025.

A'hmad El-Farra, director of Ta'hreer Hospital for Children and Maternity in Khan Younus, said in a video released by the Ministry of Health that the malnutrition clinic is collapsing under pressure.

“The clinic operates two days a week, but it receives three to four times the expected number of patients,” El-Farra explained. “On each working day, at least 52 new cases are diagnosed,” he added.

The Ministry of Health has repeatedly warned of overcrowding in malnutrition clinics across the Strip due to the sharp rise in cases under Israel’s starvation policy.

El-Farra highlighted the case of Shahd Mu'hammed Zu'rub, an 18-month-old girl suffering from severe acute malnutrition. She weighs only 5.8 kilograms, while the normal weight for her age should range between 11 and 12 kilograms. He noted that Shahd has lost both subcutaneous fat and muscle mass.

Earlier on Saturday, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the famine in Gaza City “can still be stopped.” In a statement on Facebook, the agency stressed that the humanitarian catastrophe can be halted by allowing large quantities of aid into Gaza through the UN, including UNRWA.

The agency added that its warehouses in Jordan and Egypt are full, with enough food, medicine, and hygiene supplies to load 6,000 trucks. “Israel must allow us to deliver aid into Gaza,” UNRWA stressed.

Meanwhile, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) confirmed famine in Gaza Governorate and projected that it could spread to Dair El-Bala'h and Khan Younus by the end of September.

Gaza famine: Israel starves more Palestinians to death, including 2 children

Saturday 23-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Eight more Palestinians, including two children, were pronounced dead from starvation and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, amid Israel’s blockade of humanitarian assistance into the war-ravaged Palestinian territory, where the UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) system has officially declared a famine.

More than half a million people in Gaza are trapped in famine, marked by widespread starvation, destitution and preventable deaths, according to a new IPC analysis released on Friday.

The IPC famine announcement came after months of warnings from rights groups that Israel has been weaponizing starvation against the 2.1 million population of the Gaza Strip.

At least 281 people, including 114 children, have so far starved to death in Gaza, as the Israeli occupation regime continues to restrict the entry of crucial and live-saving aid into the coastal enclave, according to Gaza’s health ministry.

Slamming Israel’s response to the IPC announcement, UNRWA commissioner general Philippe Lazzarini said it is time for the Israeli government to “stop denying the famine it has created in Gaza.”

“All of those who have influence must use it with determination and a sense of moral duty. Every hour counts,” Lazzarini wrote in a post on his X page.

For his part, UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres said the results of the IPC analysis were no mystery. “It is a man-made disaster, a moral indictment, and a failure of humanity itself.”

“Famine is not about food; it is the deliberate collapse of the systems needed for human survival,” Guterres added.

Famine conditions are expected to spread from Gaza Governorate to Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis Governorates in the coming weeks, the IPC estimates.

IOFs kidnap several Palestinians during large-scale West Bank campaign

Saturday 23-August-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) carried out a large-scale arrest campaign in the West Bank last night and on Saturday morning, kidnaping Palestinian citizens and ransacking homes.

According to local sources, the IOFs went on the rampage through homes during a raid in Jineen City, where they detained and interrogated a couple to pressure one of their sons to turn himself in.

The IOFs reportedly kidnapped at least five young men following violent raids on homes in Jineen City.

In El-Khaleel (Hebron), the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped a citizen from Taffu'h town and another one from the city’s Sha’ba street.

In Toulkarm, two other citizens were taken prisoner during an IOFs raid in 'Atteel town.

In Nablus, two young men were compelled to surrender to the Israeli occupation forces at the 'Awarta checkpoint on the city’s eastern outskirts after family members were arrested during home raids in the area.

In Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Israeli policemen kidnapped a citizen from Abu Dees town.

Meanwhile, the IOFs continued its wide-scale operation in El-Mughayyir town in the northeast of Ramallah, for the third consecutive day, carrying out dozens of home raids.

During their presence in the town, the Israeli occupation soldiers carried out violent raids on homes, destroying doors and furniture, brutalizing local residents and seizing a number of cars.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli occupation soldiers savagely beat a young man during a raid on his home in the town and fired a volley of stun grenades in the eastern neighborhood to scare families.

On Friday, the Israeli occupation forces stormed a prisoner’s house and kidnapped his wife, Sajida Abu 'Asaaf, during a raid in El-Mughayyir town, and attacked a group of women at the town’s western entrance to prevent them from leaving the area.

'Hamas urges mass presence at Al-Aqsa amid settler calls to storm the holy site

Saturday 23-August-2025

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement on Saturday called on Palestinians to flock to Al-Aqsa Mosque in response to provocative settler calls to intensify raids on the holy site in conjunction with what they term the “Hebrew new month.”

Haroun Nasiruddeen, a member of 'Hamas’s political bureau and head of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) affairs office, warned that these incitement campaigns represent a dangerous escalation targeting the sanctity and status of Al-Aqsa. He said they come as part of the Israeli escalating religious war against Palestinian land and holy places.

In a press statement, Nasiruddeen reiterated the Movement’s rejection of all attempts by the Israeli occupation and its extremist groups to impose new realities at Al-Aqsa, stressing that such actions are blatant violations of Islamic sanctities and an affront to the feelings of Muslims worldwide.

He cautioned against altering the status quo in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) and warned of serious consequences resulting from such “terrorist practices and provocative incursions.” He emphasized that efforts to undermine Al-Aqsa’s sanctity will not succeed in changing its exclusively Islamic identity.

Nasiruddeen urged Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem, the 1948 occupied territories, and the West Bank, as well as anyone able to reach the Mosque, to head to Al-Aqsa, and stay there for prayers, worship, show steadfast presence, and not leave it vulnerable to settler groups.

He also called on the Arab and Islamic nations to shoulder their responsibility toward the first qibla and the third holiest site in Islam, intensify efforts to confront the settler onslaught, and support the steadfastness of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)’s residents by all possible means.

Israel bars Barcelona mayor from visiting occupied Palestinian territories

Saturday 23-August-2025

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime so-called population and immigration authority announced on Friday that Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni had been denied entry into Israel, hours before his scheduled arrival.

In a statement, the Israeli interior ministry confirmed that the move was made “in accordance with the “entry to Israel law” and in coordination with the ministry of foreign affairs and the national security council.

The decision followed a series of condemnation statements by Collboni in recent months, as well as a resolution passed by Barcelona’s city council in May to sever ties with Israel over its crimes and violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

“The suffering and death in Gaza over the past year and a half and recent attacks by the Israeli government make any relationship unviable,” Collboni told the council recently.

The city council also suspended its 1998 friendship agreement with Tel Aviv “until respect for international law is restored and the basic rights of Palestinians are respected.” And it instructed the Port of Barcelona and trade show organizer Fira de Barcelona not to host Israeli entities or companies involved in weapons trade or profiting from Israel’s war in Gaza.

The mayor had planned to visit Occupied Jerusalem and also to meet with Palestinian Authority officials in the West Bank. The Catalan Spanish newspaper Ara reported that he had been invited by the mayors of Bethlehem and Ramallah.

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime has tightened its restrictions on foreign dignitaries and public figures who oppose or condemn its ethnic cleansing practices against the Palestinian people, threatening to punish anyone who criticize or question its actions.

British investigation reveals Reuters’ Israel bias

Saturday 23-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

A British outlet, Declassified, has published an investigative report, based on testimonies from Reuters employees and journalists, highlighting a bias in Reuters’ coverage of Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

The investigation pointed to a recent article titled “Israel kills Al-Jazeera journalist it says was a Hamas leader”, referring to the killing of Palestinian journalist Anas Sharif. According to the report, although Sharif had worked with Reuters and was part of their Pulitzer-winning 2024 news team, the headline was chosen over more accurate alternatives, suggesting an inclination to echo Israeli framing.

The report further noted that this headline, and similar instances, triggered backlash online and raised deep concerns among some staff at the influential news agency.

One email, published by a resigned Reuters journalist in August 2024, expressed disillusionment with the agency’s framing of the “Israel-Hamas war”, stating that their personal values no longer aligned with the outlet’s approach.

He, along with colleagues, had called internally for Reuters to uphold journalistic principles. However, he concluded that senior management was unlikely to reform and continued to suppress internal criticism.

An unnamed source at Reuters told Declassified that “several journalists felt coverage of the Gaza war lacked objectivity.” In response, these staff members conducted an extensive internal investigation, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis of Reuters’ reporting.

The results formed the basis of an internal open letter shared with newsroom staff, intended to strengthen and rebalance coverage of Gaza.

Reuters journalists were also reportedly questioning why the outlet had not published more stories referencing expert claims of Israeli genocide in Gaza, especially when these claims were treated differently compared to similar allegations concerning Russia’s conduct in Ukraine.

Working through 499 Reuters articles covering Israel and Palestine between October 7 and November 14, 2023, the analysis revealed a consistent pattern: Israel-centric stories received significantly more resources than those focused on Palestinian suffering. This was particularly striking given that over 11,000 Palestinians were killed in Gaza, a figure nearly 10 times higher than Israeli casualties at the time.

The report further noted that in May, Reuters seemed to show early signs of editorial shifts, perhaps reflecting internal criticisms.

Declassified also unveiled an email from Howard S. Goller, Reuters’ International Editor, introducing an update to the outlet’s editorial guidelines on the “War in the Middle East.” This update permits the use of the term “genocide,” but always with attribution, and continues to restrict the use of the term “Palestine.”

Critics told Declassified that Goller’s update reinforces an Israeli-never-critical framing. It omits key context, such as the roles of the US and Israel in derailing ceasefire negotiations.

The investigation adds that these guidelines ignore the illegal colonial settlement enterprise, the Israeli apartheid regime, and dramatically downplay the scale of destruction in Palestine. They also omit how Gaza has become the deadliest place for journalists since the American Civil War in 1861.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
